Florida has always been the problematic younger sibling in the fraternity of these United States, but things are really going off the rails today. The beaches are still gorgeous, but susceptible to red tide, pollution, erosion, and hurricanes. The former swing state has favored gun freedom, zero property tax, car culture, over-reliance on tourism, poor education outcomes, and disbelief in human-led climate change despite being hot as hell 9 months out of the year. The beautiful natural resources of the Sunshine State have been neglected in favor of profit. Bless their hearts.
